Prepare the caramel glass
- Drizzle caramel sauce inside a chilled coupe or martini glass and refrigerate to set for 10 minutes, until the coating looks glossy and clingy.
- Keep the glass chilled in the refrigerator while you prepare the cocktail so the drink goes in cold.
Shake and strain
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice until it’s cold and frosty on the outside.
- Add butterscotch schnapps, apple vodka, apple cider, caramel vodka, and cream if using to the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for 15 seconds with a firm up-and-down motion so the drink is well diluted and smooth.
- Double-strain into the prepared caramel glass to keep the texture silky and free of ice shards.
Garnish and serve
- Garnish with a thin apple slice and a cinnamon stick, placing them so the aroma is visible as you serve.
Notes
Pro tip: Chill the coupe/martini glass first and drizzle the caramel thinly; it sets faster and leaves “streaks” as it runs down the inside. Store leftovers in the fridge up to 1 day, but the garnish won’t hold—shake fresh for best texture. Freezing is not recommended. For a lighter option, use cream-less (skip the cream/half-and-half) and swap apple vodka for a lower-sugar vodka, keeping the same shake and garnish.
