Campfire Cones

Ingredients

Campfire cone filling
  • 6 waffle ice cream cones
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup banana slices
  • 0.5 cup strawberries, diced
  • 0.5 cup graham cracker pieces
  • 1 aluminum foil

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Assemble the cones
  1. Fill each waffle ice cream cone with layers of mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, banana slices, strawberries, and graham cracker pieces.
  2. Wrap each filled cone completely in aluminum foil to enclose the filling.
Melt over the campfire
  1. Place the wrapped cones on a campfire grate over medium heat for 4-5 minutes, rotating occasionally so the marshmallows melt evenly.
Cool and serve
  1. Remove the cones from the fire and let cool for 2 minutes so the filling sets slightly.
  2. Carefully unwrap the foil and enjoy with a spoon.

Notes

Pro tip: Use firm fruit pieces (banana slices and diced strawberries) so they stay as recognizable layers while the marshmallows and chocolate melt. Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator up to 2 days; the cones can soften but still taste good. Freezing isn’t recommended because the fruit texture changes. For a lighter option, swap the chocolate chips for semi-sweet mini chips with no-sugar-added, keeping the same melting method.
