Base and filling
  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 12 oz egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2.5 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Method
 

Preheat and bake setup
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
Brown the beef and build the sauce
  1. Brown the ground beef with diced onion, then drain the fat.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. Add tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, then simmer for 5 minutes.
Make the creamy noodle layer
  1. Beat the softened cream cheese with sour cream until smooth.
  2. Fold in the cooked and drained egg noodles.
  3. Spread the noodle mixture in the prepared baking dish.
Assemble and bake
  1. Pour the beef tomato sauce over the noodle layer.
  2. Scatter the shredded cheddar cheese over everything.
  3. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes at 350°F until the cheese is golden and the casserole is bubbling.
Rest and serve
  1. Let the casserole rest 5 minutes before serving.
