Ingredients

Oreo cookies
  • 24 Oreo cookies Use large sandwich cookies and keep the cream filling on one side of each.
Marshmallows
  • 12 large marshmallows Thread one marshmallow per sandwich for even roasting.
Roasting sticks
  • 1 Roasting sticks For safely roasting marshmallows over a campfire.

Equipment

  • 1 roasting sticks

Method

Prep the cookies and marshmallows
  1. Separate Oreo cookies, keeping the cream filling intact on one side of each cookie.
  2. Thread marshmallows onto roasting sticks.
Roast and assemble
  1. Roast marshmallows over campfire until golden brown and gooey, using a visible color change as your cue.
  2. Place roasted marshmallow on one Oreo cookie half and top with another cookie half to sandwich.
  3. Press gently to spread marshmallow so it oozes slightly at the edges.
Finish
  1. Let cool for 1 minute before eating to set the marshmallow just enough to hold the sandwich.

Notes

Pro tip: roast until the marshmallow looks deeply golden, not just lightly toasted, so it stays gooey inside the Oreo sandwich. Store assembled s’mores in the refrigerator up to 1 day; the marshmallow will firm up. Freezing isn’t recommended for best texture. For a simple swap, use gluten-free Oreo-style sandwich cookies to keep the format while staying similar in taste.
