Ingredients

Walking S'mores
  • 4 snack-size bags Golden Grahams cereal Or similar cereal in snack-size bags.
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Method

Fill the snack bags
  1. Carefully open each snack bag of cereal (don’t remove cereal). Keep the bag upright so the cereal stays inside.
  2. Add mini marshmallows and chocolate chips to each bag. Distribute them so they fall evenly across the cereal.
  3. Seal bags loosely or roll down the top. Leave enough slack that heat can warm the contents without fully compressing the bag.
Melt at campfire heat
  1. Place bags near (not directly on) campfire heat for 3-5 minutes, rotating occasionally. Watch for melted chocolate and softened marshmallows through the bag.
Mix and eat
  1. Mix contents by gently shaking bag until chocolate and marshmallows look evenly melted. Avoid hard shaking so the bag doesn’t burst.
  2. Eat with a spoon or directly from the bag. Let cool briefly if the bag feels very hot.

Notes

Pro tip: keep the bags off direct flames—use nearby heat and rotate often for even melting without scorching. Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge up to 1 day; rewarm briefly near gentle heat if needed. Freezing isn’t recommended due to cereal texture changes. For a dairy-free swap, use dairy-free chocolate chips.
